How to join

Three steps. A Greydwarf could do it.

PC or console, same door: crossplay is on, through the game’s own crossplay. There is nothing to install and nothing to mod.

The password is in step 3. Yes, right there. We trust you. The Greydwarfs do not.

  1. Open the Community list

    In Valheim, pick your Viking, then Join Game and the Community tab.

  2. Search for “Midgard”

    One result should look like this. If it does not, check your spelling before you blame the server.

  3. Enter the password

    Here it is. Type it, walk in. Dying in the first meadow is optional but traditional.

New here? Good. The forest has been expecting you.

Never played? Fine. Nobody is going to raid your hut while you work out which end of the axe to hold. This is a public, vanilla world and new Vikings are welcome.

The Greydwarfs will babysit you. Badly. They mean well. That is a lie. They do not mean well.

Raise a hall that outlives you

Vanilla building, no mods. The world is saved every 30 minutes with rotating backups, so the hall survives. You might not.

Find out what is past the map

A fresh world, started 11 October 2026. There is a lot of ocean. Something lives in it.

The rules

Short, so you have no excuse.

  • Be decent. To people. The trolls can look after themselves.
  • No cheats, no exploits. Vanilla means vanilla.
  • Do not grief other people’s builds. If you did not build it, you do not break it.
  • The mod team has the last word. You may argue. You will not win.
